Meet team blue:
David Siripoonsup
I grew up in Baltimore City and acquired a taste for the country life through visits and spending summers on the family farm. After high school I enrolled at Shepherd University and pursued a degree in Environmental Studies. While there I had my first exposure to organic farming with an internship in Middleburg, Virginia. Post-undergraduate school, I ran two small CSAs; Eating With the Seasons and Evensong Farm. I have been part of the development of blue morning farm since fall of 2007.
Billy Madert
I, like David, grew up in the urban area of Silver Spring, MD and migrated to West Virginia for undergraduate studies at Shepherd University. Upon entering the Environmental Studies program I met David and grew a great interest in sustainable small-scale farming. Through an internship at Red Bud Farm and individual studies I grew to appreciate the profession. In the spring of 2007 I married my college sweetheart and settled down in the farmhouse of the farm now known as blue morning.
Victoria Slater
My family immigrated from England just months after I was born in 1982. I spent several years in California, New York and Maryland before settling in the wild and wonderful West Virginia about 12 years ago. Unbeknownst to Billy and Dave I too enrolled at Shepherd University where I met my future business partners and spouse-to-be. In 2006 I received my Bachelors of Social Work and took a position as a program coordinator for a local non-profit child welfare agency in Martinsburg, WV. Through my friendships with David and Billy I have come to learn much about small-scale farming and how to lend a helping hand at home.
